A new species of the genus Pericompsus Le Conte (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Bembidiini) is described from Catamarca province, Argentina. It is found along the borders of rivers and creeks in this arid. ures, 1 table, —The New World-Australian Genus Pericompsus LeConte is revised and thirty-five species are described as new; thirty-three of forty-nine previ-ously described and named species are retained as valid, the other sixteen names are recognized as junior synonyms, twelve of them for the first time; two new sub-genera are erected, one for the Australian species and one for a Neotropical.
